Why We Need Your Support:

Naropa University, our beloved parent organization for over 30 years, has supported Alaya to manifest the vision as it was outlined so long ago. However, with the loss of the early childhood education program and the increasing financial need of the university, Naropa needs to sell the property at 3340 19th Street which is Alaya’s home. The physical land is inseparable from the spirit of the community it houses and it is therefore not simply a pick-up-and-move situation. The property is irreplaceable to us. This property has held generations and the vision is that this place be here to hold many generations to come. 

We need your help to fund the purchase of the property at 3340 19th st. so that Alaya Preschool can continue to serve children and families into the next 50 years and beyond.

The Future of Alaya Preschool

• By January 2025,  Friends of Alaya, our parent fundraising coalition, with the support of the Alaya administration and Naropa University must raise two million dollars to fund the direct purchase of the property at 3340 19th Street to be held in perpetuity by the newly founded Alaya Preschool 501c3.* Extensive research into land prices and licensing rules for new facilities has clarified that there is no other land opportunity where we can recreate the environment that we have nurtured for 50 years at our current location..  

• Alaya Preschool consistently operates at full capacity and has a reputation in the Boulder community of such exemplary care that we maintain a waitlist for future school years.

• Under the umbrella organization of Naropa University Alaya has maintained a budget that covers costs as well as funding capital upgrades as needed. We will continue to maintain a budget that supports the operations and expansion of the school.   

• Growth is on the horizon at Alaya Preschool! We are currently in collaboration with the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County to receive grant funding to create a new classroom to serve children 18-24 months to nurture the youngest warriors.
